Darien was a stop on the Racine &amp;amp; Southwestern branch line of the [[Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad]], better known as the Milwaukee Road. In its 1980 bankruptcy, the Milwaukee Road disposed of the Southwestern Line.
