Taproot singer Stephen Richards told &#039;&#039;CMJ New Music Report&#039;&#039; that the songs on &#039;&#039;Gift&#039;&#039; were written in 1997, playing the songs for a few years. He claimed that &amp;quot;Dragged Down&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;Now&amp;quot; were the only songs written specifically for &#039;&#039;Gift&#039;&#039;.
