'''Viscount Selby''', of the [[City of Carlisle]], is a title in the [[Peerage of the United Kingdom]]. It was created in 1905 for the [[Liberal Party (UK)|Liberal]] politician [[William Court Gully, 1st Viscount Selby|Sir William Court Gully]] upon his retirement as [[Speaker of the House of Commons (United Kingdom)|Speaker of the House of Commons]].<ref>{{London Gazette |issue=27814 |date=7 July 1904 |page=4699}}</ref> The family seat was Sutton Place, [[Seaford, East Sussex|Seaford]], Sussex, and latterly [[Shuna Island|Shuna Castle]], Argyll.

The first Viscount was the son of the prominent physician [[James Manby Gully]]. The title of the viscountcy derived from the maiden name of Gully's wife, Elizabeth [[Selby family|Selby]], daughter of Thomas Selby, of [[Ightham Mote]], Kent. {{As of|2017}} the title is held by the first Viscount's great-great-great-grandson, the sixth Viscount, who succeeded his father in 2001.

The family seat is Ardfern House, near [[Lochgilphead]], [[Argyll]].
