Description

Ελληνικά: Αρχαίο θέατρο Μαντινείας. Το θέατρο της Μαντινείας βρίσκεται στο χώρο της αγοράς, στην περιοχή, δηλαδή, όπου συγκεντρώνονταν οι πολιτικές, θρησκευτικές, πολιτιστικές και κοινωνικές δραστηριότητες της αρχαίας πόλης.

Πρόκειται για μικρό, σχετικά, θέατρο, του οποίου η χωρητικότητα υπολογίζεται σε 6.200 θεατές. Είναι από τα λίγα θέατρα που έχουν κατασκευαστεί σε επίπεδο έδαφος και όχι σε λόφο. Γι’ αυτό και έχει ισχυρό αναλημματικό τοίχο που συγκρατεί την τεχνητή επίχωση.

Το υλικό κατασκευής του είναι ντόπιος ασβεστόλιθος και λευκό μάρμαρο.
