As safety Nolan Cromwell desperately clutches his jersey, Detroit Lions running back Billy Sims reels another gain in the Lions' 41-20 rout of the Rams in the 1980 season opener. Playing in his first league game, Sims ran for 153 yards and three touchdowns. He was a landslide choice as rookie of the year, rushing for 1,303 yards.
