Summary
This picture shows the terrain surrounding the small Krishna crater on the Mare Serenitatis. To the north of center is a wrinkle-ridge named Dorsum Owen. Just visible to the lower right is a portion of the longer Dorsum Von Cotta. The unusual rift-like feature near the center is located at selenographic coordinates 24.5° N, 11.2° E, and occupies a diameter of about 9 km.
The source image was taken during the Apollo 15 mapping metric sequence, revolution 23. The picture was produced by cropping the hi-res image, then rotating 90° counter-clockwise so that north is toward the top edge.
The NASA website hosts a large number of images from the Soviet/Russian space agency, and other non-American space agencies. These are not necessarily in the public domain.
