Tra via Roma e via Armando Diaz si conserva il Ponte Medioevale, che collegava Castiglione Olona con Gornate Superiore ed è oggi adibito ad uso esclusivamente pedonale. Costruito in stile romanico con mattoni a vista, si sviluppa su tre arcate poggianti su pilastri. Sulle sponde si conservano le antiche case dei pescatori e i dei mulini da macina, che sfruttavano il corso dell’Olona.

Lungo la salita si trova una sezione delle antiche mura medioevali, con paramenti in pietra a vista e baluardi. L’entrata al borgo storico di Castiglione Olona avviene ancora tramite le antiche porte: l’Arco di Ponente, una struttura quasi inglobata nelle abitazioni, e l’Arco di Levante, un più ampio arco a sesto acuto con conci in laterizi e sormontato da merli a ventiera.
