Description
English: An oil-on-canvas portrait of Charles Gray (1696-1782), MP of Colchester, among other interests, now hanging in the Hollytrees Museum in Colchester. The description there states that it is a copy of another painting (previously) hanging in Birch Hall. 61x51 cm.
Date Unknown date; one can surmise that if Gainsborough were the original artist, it ought to have been painted around 1748-1758.
Source/Photographer Current version: photograph provided by the Colchester Museums service, who maintain a digital archive of paintings held in their museums (contact).
