Deutsch: Der Gemeinde Vettweiß ist mit Urkunde des Innenministers des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen vom 24.05.1967 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens, Banners und Siegels verliehen worden. „In grün ein goldener (gelber) Schild mit einem schwarzen Löwen, darüber wachsend eine blau gekleidete Muttergottes mit Kind in goldenem (gelbem) Strahlenkranz.“ Das Wappen zeigt den Jülicher Löwen (Herzogtum Jülich) und die Mutter Gottes mit dem Kinde, Schutzpatronin des Ortes. Das Wappen ist einem Schöffensiegel des Jahres 1550 nachgebildet.
English: „The arms were granted on May 24, 1967. The arms are based on a seal from 1550. The origin of the image of the St. Mary is not known. The lion is the lion of the Dukes of Jülich, who ruled the area for many centuries.“
