März 1977 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. „Über einem goldenen Schildfuß, darin ein schwarzer Forsthaken, in Rot ein bekrönter, zwiegeschwänzter silberner Löwe“ Dieses Wappen geht auf ein (vermutlich in der 2. Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts entstandenes) Siegel zurück, das sich auf mehreren Urkunden von 1345 bis 1355 findet. Ein dreizinkiger Forsthaken unterhalb des Löwen (auch als Wolfsangel oder als Mauerhaken gedeutet) wird ab 1484 im Waldfeuchter Wappen abgebildet, als Waldfeucht zum Herzogtum Jülich kam und nun den (ungekrönten, einschwänzigen) Jülicher Löwen bis 1977 im Wappen führte. English: „The arms were granted on March 14, 1977. The area belonged until 1484 to Heinsberg and the oldest seal of Waldfeucht (known since 1355) shows the lion of Heinsberg. The upper part of the new arms shows this lion. The lower part shows the old village sign, used on border stones etc, in the colours of Jülich. After 1484 the are was part of the Duchy of Jülich.“ |
