Description Detail of Voyager 1 raw image showing the Saturnian satellite Epimetheus. The image was taken from 176,000 km one hour before Voyager's closest approach to Saturn, on 12 November 1980. Epimetheus is about 110 km in diameter at the poles (north is at 1:00). The large crater at the center of the image is about 35 km in diameter. The dark semi-circular line on the moon to the left is the shadow of Saturn's F-ring.
