Description Illustration of where Umberto I of Italy was shot during his assassination; titled "How the king was killed" with the caption, "A prominent surgeon of this city illustrated for the Herald yesterday just how the assassin's bullets entered the body of King Humbert. Of the three shots fired one entered the fourth intercostal space, penetrating the heart; another struck the left collar bone, and the third entered the fourth intercostal space, along the anterior axillary line."
