Summary

Description
English: External meshing of two spur gears with involute teeth. z1 = 20, z2 = 50, α = 20°, x1 = x2 = 0, ISO 53:1998. The lower (green) gear is the driving one. The line of contact, which is the locus of all teeth contact points, is shown in blue. The contact points are highlighted with bold black dots; either one pair or two pairs of teeth can be meshed at a time (ε = 1,656). It is shown that the common normal to the contacting teeth profiles retains its position during meshing and is a common tangent to the base circles (rb1 and rb2), i.e. to the evolutes of the contacting teeth profiles.
Русский: Внешнее зацепление двух цилиндрических зубчатых колес с эвольвентными зубьями. z1 = 20, z2 = 50, α = 20°, x1 = x2 = 0, β = 0°, исходный контур по ГОСТ 13755-2015 (ISO 53:1998). Нижнее (зелёное) колесо является ведущим. Синим цветом показана рабочая (активная) часть линии зацепления, являющаяся геометрическим местом всех точек контакта зубьев. Точки контакта выделены жирными черными точками; видно, что одновременно в зацеплении может находиться либо одна пара, либо две пары зубьев (ε = 1,656). Показано, что общая нормаль к соприкасающимся профилям зубьев сохраняет своё положение в процессе зацепления и является общей касательной к основным окружностям (rb1 and rb2), т. е. к эволютам соприкасающихся профилей зубьев.
