Description Original wood-engraving illustration scanned from 19th-century historical account of battle between Kearsarge and Alabama. Artifact is in the collection of the Naval Historical Center, Washington Navy Yard. When the image was first published, artifact was then in the [no longer extant] Ordnance Museum at Washington Navy Yard.
