English: Schematic representation of the landscape management strategies considered in the land sharing vs. land sparing debate. Black frames represent landscapes, while green shapes indicate biodiversity, i.e., they can be interpreted as nature elements or, to a lesser extent, trees. Natural (protected) areas are represented by tightly-packed green shapes and semi-natural areas by more widely-spaced green shapes symbolizing biodiversity in agricultural systems. (Adapted from Balmford et al., 2012.).
Français : Représentation schématique des stratégies de gestion du paysage envisagées dans le débat entre le partage et l'économie des terres. Les cadres noirs représentent les paysages, tandis que les formes vertes indiquent la biodiversité, autrement dit, elles peuvent être interprétées comme des éléments naturels ou, dans une moindre mesure, comme des arbres. Les zones naturelles (protégées) sont représentées par des formes vertes regroupées et les zones semi-naturelles par des formes vertes plus espacées symbolisant la biodiversité dans les systèmes agricoles.
