Description
English: Ernest deKoven Leffingwell at Astronomical Observatory Flaxman Island. Anglo- American Polar Expedition. Canning district, Northern Alaska region, Alaska. The crates of malted milk were donated by Horlick's; the expedition evaluated it both instead of and in alternation with Pemmican. Leffingwell was the same age as William Horlick, Jr, and both attended the grammar school at Racine College.
Date USGS site says circa 1910, could be as early as 1906
