| Description |
English: This photograph shows several television news organizations' production trucks in a transmitting position. These trucks are used for on location remote broadcasting of TV news stories. The microwave dishes on retractable telescoping masts are extended to transmit live video back to the studio. The microwave beam must have a line-of-sight path to the studio's antenna, so tall masts are needed to raise the dish above obstructions like buildings. The truck in the rear belongs to KPTV Portland. Photo taken by U.S. Government employees. [1] |
