English: A mural depicting British surrender and signing of a treaty with the powerful Maratha Kingdom of India as a part of the First Anglo-Maratha War (1779 CE). The mural portrays a British officer surrendering before H.H. Mahadaji Scindia (Maharaja and Knight of the Mahratta polity, who also served as a Military General during the war) and Nana Fadanvis (a minister of Mahratta polity). The mural is a part of the Victory Memorial (Vijay Stambh) located at Wadgaon/Vadgaon Maval (Off NH-4, Malinagar, Wadgaon Maval, Pune, India). |
