English: A German Messerschmitt Me 410B-2/U4 with a BK 5 heavy autocannon peels off from attacking a U.S. Army Air Forces Boeing B-17G-45-BO Flying Fortress (s/n 42-97173, "Lady Godiva") of the 562nd Bomb Squadron, 388th Bomb Group, over Brüx, Czechoslovakia (now Most, Czech Republic), 12 May 1944.
Deutsch: Das Foto zeigt wahrscheinlich die versuchsweise mit einer Flak 43 ausgerüstete Me 410 „schwarze 13“ (W.Nr. 10241, St.Knz. SI+TP) des Erprobungskommandos 25 (Ekdo. 25) mit der Besatzung Lt. Paul Kaschuba/Fw. Karl Bredemeier bei einem Angriff am 12.5.1944 auf die B-17G „Lady Godiva“ der 388th Bomb Group. Die Besatzung flog diesen Einsatz im Verband mit Me 410 der II./ZG 26. Sie kam ums Leben, als das Flugzeug nach Treffern im rechten Motor bei einer versuchten Notlandung bei Crispendorf/Schleiz abstürzte.
