Summary

the logo used for Microsoft-related content through 1987-2012, it can be found in various pieces of hardware and software and was designed in the year 1987. it has a vector modified shape between the letters "O" and "S". The logo was changed by modern logo in 2012 with the release of Windows 8. the new logo was used since 2012 and was designed by Pentagram and Daniel Viel. Great examples of using 1987-2012 is on bootscreens from Windows 2.03 to Windows XP. This logo appeared in ads such as "Yes You Can" commercial by Microsoft for Windows XP. The logo can also be found in earlier version of Windows Longhorn, showing the logo and the Windows version and in the Windows 98 Setup Wizard
