Description
Norsk nynorsk: Våpen for Notodden kommune i Telemark fylke, godkjent ved kongeleg resolusjon 11. august 1939.
Motiv: På blå botn ei loddrett sølv-elv som sender ut lynstrålar av sølv til begge sider. Motivet skal vise at byen er oppstått ved utnytting av vasskraft til elektrisk energi. Tinnfoss og dei andre fossane i Tinnåa gav frå slutten av førre hundreår grunnlaget for industriell verksemd, og då Norsk Hydro starta verksemda si på staden i 1905, voks Notodden raskt til eit heilt bysamfunn.
