Deutsch: Hier ragt der Olivenbaum über den Büschen zum Himmel. Zwischenform zwischen Busch und Baum, mit schmalen Blättern. Vorkommen oberhalb 1200 m, im Hoggar, Tassili n'Ajjer, Tefedest und Immidir in Algerien, Air in Niger und West-Darfour im Sudan. Diese Spezies ist besser an die Trockenheit adaptiert als der mediterrane Olivenbaum. Standort: Im Atakor (zentraler Hoggar), Nähe Ouasmattaren, auf gut 2000 m Höhe, nach einem Sommer mit drei Regenperioden.
English: Here, the olive tree towers above the bushes toward the sky. It is a hybrid between a bush and a tree, with narrow leaves. It occurs above 1200 m in the Hoggar, Tassili n'Ajjer, Tefedest, and Immidir in Algeria, Air in Niger, and West Darfur in Sudan. This species is better adapted to drought than the Mediterranean olive tree. Location: In Atakor (central Hoggar), near Ouasmattaren, at an altitude of around 2000 m, after a summer with three rainy periods.
Français : Ici, l'olivier s'élève vers le ciel au-dessus des buissons. Forme intermédiaire entre le buisson et l'arbre, avec des feuilles étroites. Présent au-dessus de 1200 m, dans le Hoggar, le Tassili n'Ajjer, le Tefedest et l'Immidir en Algérie, l'Air au Niger et le Darfour occidental au Soudan. Cette espèce est mieux adaptée à la sécheresse que l'olivier méditerranéen.
