Picture of Ottumwa Station taken from the west end of the platform, looking east. I got off the California Zephyr on August 5, 2007 about 1:45pm (scheduled 10:45am, but we were really late...) and framed this shot while crouching down to get the roof line of the building to match the platform awning. During this part of the trip, I was struck by the faded grandeur of the old stations in Iowa and Nebraska (Lincoln, Omaha). It all left me feeling sad.
