English: This is a Com*MAND 1 RDS 704 seismic processing system operated by Petty Ray Geophysical in Mogadishu Somalia in 1974. From L to R Gould 11" electrostatic plotter, card reader, KSR 33 teletype, RDS 704 CPU, ATP , 4 Wang Dual density 1/2" tape drives, two Diablo 1.2 Mb floppy disks, 10mb Winchester disk, 1" tape drive. As can be seen by the photo, the system is installed in an office - in fact a room in a villa in a compound, one of the advantages of deploying these small systems. |
