English: Roy Harris Jenkins (1920–2003). Writer, Labour MP for Southwark Central (1948–50) and for Birmingham Stretchford (1950–77), Home Secretary (1965–67, 1974–76), Chancellor of the Exchequer (1967–70), President of the European Commission (1977–81), founder of the Social Democratic Party and MP therefor for Glasgow Hillhead (1982–87). Bromide print given to the NPG 1974.
