English: A watercolour painting in the Shirazi style depicting Shaykh Ṣafī al-Dīn dancing in a sama from illustrated copy of Ṣafvat al-Ṣafā, the life of Shaykh Ṣafī al-Dīn, by Ismāʿil bin Bazzāz, completed in Shaʿbān 990/September 1582 in Shirāz. It is notable that four women and a child are part of the circle, suggesting their initiation into the practices of the order. |
