Description
English: This is an example of a Buddhist prayer bead in Japan that has a picture inside the main bead. This photo is of Kukai, founder of the Shingon school, though other Japanese Buddhist schools may have similar beads containing Buddhist imagery inside. The text on the left and right is a common mantra devoted to Kukai.
