Ελληνικά: Ο Σείριος. Το λαμπρότερο αστέρι δεξιά του είναι ο Μιρζάμ ενώ κάτω από τον Σείριο και λίγο δεξιά είναι το σμήνος αστεριών Μ 41. English: Sirius (α CMa), Mirzam (β CMa) on the right, and star clusters M41 (lower right), M50 (upper left), and NGC 2360 (lower left). Italiano: Campo stellare centrato sulla stella Sirio (α CMa). Facilmente riconoscibili sono anche Mirzam (β CMa), alla sua destra, e l'ammasso aperto M41, in basso. Ingrandendo l'immagine, tuttavia, è possibile identificare anche altre stelle brillanti della costellazione del Cane Maggiore e altri cinque ammassi aperti in prossimità del bordo sinistro dell'immagine (dall'alto in basso): M50, NGC 2335, NGC 2343, NGC 2345 e NGC 2360. Infine, in prossimità della stella Mirzam, è presente un sesto ammasso aperto, NGC 2204, poco visibile nell'immagine. La loro posizione è segnalata con l'uso delle note. |
