Description
English: Western Front: Western Front (Belgium), Ypres Area, Poperinghe. Frizeville. Soldiers oversee the transfer of ammunition from broad gauge (right) to light railway. At the time the third battle of Ypres was raging. Note the extremely muddy state of the ground.
Français : Front ouest en Belgique, dans la zone d'Ypres à Poperinghe. Des soldats supervisent un transfert de munitions d'une voie large (à droite) au sur une voie légère (locomotive australienne ?), en 1917 alors que la troisième bataille d'Ypres faisait rage. Noter l'état extrêmement boueux du sol, et l'équipement ajouté à l'avant de la petite locomotive pour déblayer la voie d'éventuels débris
