Description
English: This diagram shows the position of the trachyte field in the total alkali-silica (TAS) diagram for classifying extrusive igneous rock. Trachyte is high in silica and alkali metals and is the usual end member of the alkali magma series, with differentiation proceeding to phonolite only rarely.
