Summary

Description
English: Exocytosis (depicted in the left box): the vesicle fuses with the plasma membrane, releasing the substance into the extracellular space.

3 types of Endocytosis (depicted in the right box): the substance(s) are engulfed by the plasma membrane, and travel through vesicles created by the plasma membrane into the cytoplasm. 1) Pinocytosis: fluid is engulfed by the plasma membrane 2) Phagocytosis: large particles are engulfed by the plasma membrane (ex., bacteria, dead cells, foreign substances, etc.)

3) Receptor-Mediated: molecules attach to receptors and gather to fold the plasma membrane in on itself to form a vesicle
