English: The decommissioned U.S. Navy dock landing ship USS Monticello (LSD-35) at anchor on 14 July 2010, 110 km off Kauai, Hawaii (USA). Monticello was the target for a SINKEX during RIMPAC 2010. She was towed to the site from Pearl Harbor by USNS Navajo (T-ATF-169) on 12 July 2010 and sunk by AGM-65 Maverick missiles fired by Lockheed P-3C Orion aircraft from patrol squadrons VP-4 and VP-40. |
