Summary

Description

In 800sqn markings. On 18th April 1962 this aircraft had a mid-air collision with another Scimitar while carrying out a formation flypast off Malta. Both aitcraft landed safely. By an amazing coincidence, the other aircraft involved was 'XD332' which is now preserved by Solent Sky in Southampton. This is even more remarkable given that the type suffered a 50% loss rate in service, and that only 3 complete aircraft have survived into preservation. Displayed in 'Carrier' exhibition.
