Summary

Description
English: A map of Macedon Ranges Shire showing the predecessor LGAs that overlapped the area before the 1994 local government amalgamations. Green dots mark the administrative centres of the former LGAs. The black dot marks Macedon Ranges Shire's present-day administrative centre (Kyneton).

The former LGA boundaries were digitised from the technical descriptions published in the Victorian Government Gazettes: 1961 page 3008 (Gisborne), 1922 page 4 (Kyneton), 1953 page 2655 (Newham and Woodend), 1978 page 388 (Romsey). Where discrepancies existed between the Kyneton boundary definition and those of neighbouring shires, the later descriptions were preferred.
