Green dots mark the administrative centres of the former LGAs. The black dot marks the Rural City's present-day administrative centre (Wangaratta). The former LGA boundaries were digitised from the technical descriptions published in the Victorian Government Gazettes: 1964 page 187 (Beechworth), 1980 page 521 + severance 1993 page 2737 (Shire of Benalla), 1978 page 2950 (Oxley), 1980 page 2143 + alteration 1993 page 761 (City and Shire of Wangaratta), 1891 page 1629 (Yarrawonga, as Shire of North Yarrawonga - renamed in 1893 page 2093). |
