English: Bureau plat (writing table) of Pierre Victor, Baron de Besenval (1721–1791), photographed at the Christie's sales exhibition in Paris in 2025. The bureau plat is described by Luc-Vincent Thiéry (1734–1822) in 1787 as being place in the baron's bedroom, the Chambre du maître, at the Baron de Besenval's residence in Paris, the Hôtel de Besenval. The Hôtel de Besenval has housed the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation and the residence of the Swiss ambassador to France since 1938.
