Description Publicity photo of musician Lawrence Welk.
Date 1944. Welk was able to start his own orchestra during that time period. The photo was taken in Chicago and this is where he performed with his own orchestra for many years during that time frame. The back of the photo dates it from 1944 and describes it as being from a Chicago theater performance.
