'''Erich Gamma''' is a [[Switzerland|Swiss]] [[computer scientist]] and one of the four co-authors (referred to as "[[Gang of Four (software)|Gang of Four]]") of the [[software engineering]] textbook, ''[[Design Patterns|Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software]]''.

Gamma, along with [[Kent Beck]], co-wrote the [[JUnit]] software testing framework which helped create Test-Driven Development and {{According to whom|influenced the whole software industry|date=May 2024}}.  He was the development team lead of the [[Eclipse (software)|Eclipse]] platform's [[Java (programming language)|Java]] Development Tools ([http://www.eclipse.org/jdt/index.php JDT]), and worked on the IBM Rational [http://jazz.net/about/ Jazz project].
