[[Taiwan]] is a [[Developed country|stable industrial economy]] as a result of economic growth and [[industrialization]] during the late 20th century, often referred to as one of the [[Four Asian Tigers]] along with [[Hong Kong]], [[Singapore]] and [[South Korea]]. It is a member of both the [[World Trade Organization]] and the [[Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation]] under [[Chinese Taipei|various names]] due to its [[Political status of Taiwan|ambiguous political status]]. As the [[List of countries by GDP (PPP)|20th largest economy]] in the world as of 2023, its [[high-tech]] industry plays a key role in the global economy.
