He won three silver medals at the [[ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships]] (C-2 1000 m: [[2006 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships|2006]], C-4 1000 m: [[2002 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships|2002]], [[2003 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships|2003]]). Buday was born in [[Budapest]], [[Hungary]].

Competing in three [[Summer Olympics]] alongside his brother [[Attila Buday|Attila]], Buday earned his best finish of seventh in the [[Canoeing at the 2000 Summer Olympics – Men's C-2 1000 metres|C-2 1000 m]] event at [[Sydney]] in [[2000 Summer Olympics|2000]].

Buday's father [[Tamás Buday|Tamás]] won bronze medals for Hungary in the [[Canoeing at the 1976 Summer Olympics – Men's C-2 500 metres|C-2 500 m]] and [[Canoeing at the 1976 Summer Olympics – Men's C-2 1000 metres|C-2 1000 m]] events at the [[1976 Summer Olympics]] in [[Montreal]].
