In 1964 it was considered to be a crater formed by volcanism.<ref name=notes />{{rp|31}} Its rims reach an altitude of {{convert|3820|m}} and in the crater lies a [[Dry lake|playa]] lake. The crater has dimensions of {{convert|6|-|6.7|km}}.<ref name=notes />{{rp|32}} The crater was most likely formed by the collapse of a sediment dome, an origin as a [[meteorite crater]] is less likely.<ref name=notes />{{rp|38}}
