The correct order is as follows: Innstetten finds the letters, he realises Effi had an affair, he then talks to Wuellersdorf, who acts as his second. He then duels Crampas. He kills Crampas. Then he divorces Effi. He tells Effi all of this in a letter. Following this, the Briests disown Effi. Then Effi is alone.
