MacArthur's primary proconsular role was as Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers overseeing the occupation of Japan from 1945 to 1951. While he commanded UN forces during the Korean War from 1950-1951, , his proconsular-type administrative authority was in Japan, not South Korea. The article itself earlier correctly states he was "ruler of Japan and Korea after World War II", so this is misleading
