Cyanoacetylene is an organic compound with the formula Template:Chem2 or Template:Chem2. It is the simplest cyanopolyyne. Cyanoacetylene has been detected by spectroscopic methods in interstellar clouds,<ref>Template:Cite journal</ref> in the coma of comet Hale–Bopp and in the atmosphere of Saturn's moon Titan,<ref>Template:Cite journal</ref> where it sometimes forms expansive fog-like clouds.<ref>Template:Cite news</ref>
Cyanoacetylene is one of the molecules that was produced in the Miller–Urey experiment.<ref>Template:Cite journal</ref>
Nickel carbonyl catalyzes cyanoacetylene carboalkoxylation to cyanoacrylate esters.<ref>Template:Ullmann</ref>
