Andraemon

In Greek mythology the name Andraemon (Template:IPAc-en; Template:Langx) may refer to:

• Andraemon, son of Oxylus and husband of Dryope.<ref>Ovid, Metamorphoses 9.333; Antoninus Liberalis, 32 as cited in Nicander's Metamorphoses</ref>
• Andraemon, possible father of another Oxylus.<ref>Apollodorus, 2.8.3.</ref>
• Andraemon, an Aetolian king and husband of Gorge of Calydon. By the latter, he became the father of Thoas. Andraemon succeeded his father-in-law Oeneus' power over Aetolia. He and his wife were buried in one tomb which was shown in the city of Amphissa.<ref>Homer, Iliad 2.638; Apollodorus, 1.8.1, 6, E.3.12; Pausanias, 10.38.5</ref>
• Andraemon, brother of Leonteus. He married Amphinome, a daughter of Pelias.<ref>Diodorus Siculus, 4.53.2</ref>
• Andraemon, one of the Suitors of Penelope who came from Dulichium along with other 56 wooers.<ref>Apollodorus, E.7.26–27.</ref> He, with the other suitors, was slain by Odysseus with the aid of Eumaeus, Philoetius, and Telemachus.<ref>Apollodorus, E.7.33.</ref>
• Andraemon, a son of King Codrus. He participated in the colonization of Asia Minor and drove the Carians out of the city of Lebedus. His tomb was shown near Colophon.<ref>Pausanias, 7.3.5</ref> Mimnermus related that Andraemon was a native of Pylos and founder of Colophon.<ref>as cited in Strabo, 14.1.3</ref>

Similarly Andraemonides was a patronymic, frequently used to refer to Thoas, son of Andraemon and Gorge.<ref>Homer, Iliad 2.638</ref>
