  • June 20- June 21: Australian comic artist Len Lawson (of The Lone Avenger fame) who, between 1954 and 1961, had already been jailed after being sentenced for rape and assault, rapes and murders another young woman in his apartment, then holds a group of school children at ransom, shooting one of them dead.
