The Alteromonadaceae are a family of Pseudomonadota.<ref name=BergeyGamma>George M. Garrity: Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology. 2. Auflage. Springer, New York, 2005, Volume 2: The Proteobacteria, Part B: The Gammaproteobacteria</ref> They are now one of several families in the order Alteromonadales, including Alteromonas and its closest relatives.<ref>Template:Cite journal</ref> Species of this family are mostly rod-like shaped and motile by using one polar flagellum.
