In Greek mythology, Astypalaea (Ancient Greek: Ἀστυπάλαια Template:IPA) or Astypale was a Phoenician princess as the daughter of King Phoenix<ref>Hyginus, Fabulae 157; Scholia on Euripides, Phoenissae 5</ref> and Perimede, daughter of Oeneus; thus she was the sister of Europa. In some accounts, her mother was called Telephe and her siblings were Peirus and again Europe.<ref>Scholia on Euripides, Phoenissae 5</ref> Astypale was a lover of Poseidon who seduced her, and had two sons by him: Ancaeus, King of Samos,<ref>Pausanias, 7.4.1</ref> and Eurypylos, King of Kos.<ref>Apollodorus, 2.7.1</ref>
