History

Auburn incorporated in 1892 soon after the railroad was extended to that point.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref>

Geography

Auburn is located in western Barrow County and is Template:Convert northeast of downtown Atlanta and Template:Convert west of Athens.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of Template:Convert, of which Template:Convert is land and Template:Convert, or 0.39%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>
