This category is for fictional characters who are assassins or have committed at least one assassination of a targeted individual (usually a prominently public figure), killing them through a stealthy and/or surprise attack.

Assassins may be motivated to murder their victim(s) for the sake of executing specific sociopolitical or ideological goals, to support their own faction's objectives during a war or other violent conflict, receiving monetary payment from a client who hired them (professional assassins motivated by profit are always contract killers), or simply to settle some sort of personally vengeful vendetta against the victim.
